Barack Obama Raps Eminem’s ‘Lose Yourself’: Look + Listen

After being introduced by Eminem at the Kamala Harris rally on Tuesday night (10.22,) Barack Obama quoted ‘Lose Yourself.’

During the political event held in Detroit, Michigan, the superstar rapper/writer (born Marshall Mathers,) welcomed the former U.S. president to the rally stage in support for the Democratic candidate leading-up to the 2024 election.

Following Eminem’s introduction, Obama took to the podium and began his speech by reciting the Detroit native’s 2002 hit single ‘Lose Yourself’:

“I have done a lot of rallies, so I don’t usually get nervous. But I was feeling some kind of way following Eminem.” “I noticed, my palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy, vomit on my sweater already, mom’s spaghetti.” “I’m nervous but on the surface I look calm and ready, to drop bombs but I keep on forgetting…”

Now 63-years-old, America’s 44th President concluded by repeating the intro bars to the song and noting, “Love me some Eminem.”

During his own speech, Eminem encouraged fans to vote when polling stations open, stating:

“I’m here tonight for a couple of important reasons. As most of you know, the city of Detroit and the whole state of Michigan mean a lot to me, and going into this election, the spotlight is on us more than ever, and I think it’s important to use your voice, so I’m encouraging everybody to get out and vote, please.” “I also think that people shouldn’t be afraid to express their opinions, and I don’t think anyone wants an America where people are worried about retribution of what people will do if you make your opinion known.”

A vocal critic of Donald Trump in the past, the multi-award winning artist went onto emphasize his support for Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz, stating:

“I think Vice President Harris supports a future for this country where these freedoms and many others will be protected and upheld.”

The 2024 U.S. presidential election will be held on 5 November.
