During last night’s 2025 MTV Video Music Awards at the UBS Arena, Ariana Grande took home the prestigious Video of the Year prize for ‘Brighter Days Ahead.’
After reading a protracted list of collaborators involved in the making her video, the now 32-year old songstress closed out her speech by saying, “Thank you to my therapist and gay people.”
In other MTV VMA-related news, Lady Gaga won Artist of the Year, claiming her moon man trophy and thanking her fiancé, Michael Polansky, before exciting the stage to perform at Madison Square Garden, as part of her Mayhem Ball Tour.
“A partner in all things, Michael, creating this year with you was a beautiful, beautiful dream and you have been my partner every step of the way,” said the superstar singer/songwriter born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta.
Newcomer Alex Warren scooped Best New Artist and also performed at the event along with Sabrina Carpenter, Post Malone and Jelly Roll (via satellite from Germany), 2025 Video Vanguard Award recipient Mariah Carey, Busta Rhymes, winner of the inaugural Rock the Bells Visionary Award, and Ricky Martin, who took home the first-ever Latin Icon Award.
