Following a near-fatal bacterial infection in 2023, Madonna has reflected on her “miraculous recovery.”
Taking to social media, the superstar singer (born Madonna Louise Ciccone) posted an emotional message on Instagram addressing how much her health has improved over the last year.
On July 4th, Madonna wrote “A year ago today, I had just come home from the hospital after surviving a life threatening illness.” “I could barely stand in my backyard holding one sparkler. I made a miraculous recovery and had an amazing year.” “Thank you God. Life is beautiful!”
In June of last year, manager Guy Oseary revealed that the most successful female of all time was in intensive care with a “serious bacterial infection,” writing “Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care.” “A full recovery is expected.”
Until she was well enough to resume her concert dates, the illness temporary curtailed the Celebration World Tour and during a New York show last December, Madonna told the crowd she has been in “an induced coma for 48 hours” earlier that year, adding “There are some very important people in the room tonight that were with me at the hospital. There’s one very important woman who dragged me to the hospital I don’t even remember; I passed out on my bathroom floor and woke up in the ICU. She saved my life.”
