The latest in a series of accusations, an unnamed woman has filed a lawsuit alleging Russell Simmons raped her.
Not the first time the music mogul has been sited for sexual misconduct, Simmons has yet to respond to the allegations that he raped a former female executive from his record company Def Jam Recordings, in the late 1990s.
The current lawsuit alleges that the anonymous woman – identified as ‘Jane Doe’ – visited Simmons at his home and as they sat on a bed to watch a recently shot music video, the now-66 year old rap mogul allegedly initiated a “wrestling move”.
According to the lawsuit, “The situation escalated into aggression and Mr. Simmons pinned Ms. Doe down on a bed.” “Ms. Doe repeatedly told Mr. Simmons to get off of her, but he refused.” “Mr. Simmons proceeded to rape her.”
The legal paperwork states that Jane Doe’s career effectively ended by the alleged incident, with the unnamed plaintiff subsequently resigning from her position and moving interstate.
The suit says that Simmons “revealed his true colors and, through his assaultive behavior, disabled Ms. Doe’s career at Def Jam, a job she loved, at the height of her success and financial viability.”
Currently, the defendant has been accused of sexual impropriety by more than twelve separate women, and he has not yet responded to the latest claims.
In 2023, Russell stated “I took nine lie detector tests, people don’t know that.” “Nine separate – seven from the Chairman of the Polygraph Association. One for each and serious accusation.”
