During The Rolling Stones star-studded New York album launch show on Thursday night (10.19,) Lady Gaga made a surprise cameo appearance.
Performing a duet of ‘Sweet Sounds of Heaven’ from the iconic band’s highly anticipated new LP ‘Hackney Diamonds,’ Gaga imitated Mick Jagger’s dance moves on stage at Racket NYC.
With the likes of Daniel Craig, Chris Rock, Trevor Noah, Jimmy Fallon, and Elvis Costello in the audience, Lady’s appearance came at the end of the set with the pop superstar donning a glittering flared jumpsuit for the occasion.
The Stones kicked off the surprise seven-song setlist with their New York-themed, ‘Shattered,’ as Mick, 80, Keith Richards, 79, and Ronnie Wood, 76, performed their new LP tracks ‘Angry’, ‘Whole Wide World’ and ‘Bite My Head Off,’ along with their classics ‘Tumbling Dice’ and ‘Jumping Jack Flash’.
In support of their first new full length in 18 years, the legendary UK hitmakers are primed and ready to get back on tour in 2024.
In an interview with Britain’s Daily Star newspaper, Wood said:
“Hopefully, next year we start. We gotta keep going because we’re not getting any younger.” “We’ve just rehearsed. We’ve been doing a little rehearsing to see how these songs translate live – they’re really cooking.”
Insisting that he’s always singing to keep his vocals in check, Mick stated:
“I’m just lucky really, I never really had any problems with my voice.” “I kept it going. I had a few singing lessons to keep it together, so I practice a lot even when I’m not working.” “It’s like being in the gym so I go to the gym and I sing. Boring but you know it’s worth it.”
Jagger closed the New York set by saying “We were missing the launches so much we had to go back and make another album.”
