On Wednesday (10.04,) during her appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Ciara opened up about her decision to leave her former fiancé Future, several months after they welcomed their first child, Future Zahir, in May of 2014.
“When you know you’re supposed to make a super-defined decision in your life, you know it from, like, the head to your feet and your soul and your body, you know it,” said the singer (born Ciara Princess Harris.) “It’s almost like your tastebuds change.” “You gotta look in the mirror and reflect too, like, ‘What are things I could be doing differently in my life?’ or ‘I’m looking for a change, but what does that mean?'”
Stating that becoming a mom led to the end of her “experimentation kind of phase” and meant that there was “no time to play around” she said:
“I am now responsible for another life. So what am I doing? How am I thinking that through?” “I want joy. I want to make sure my cup is full… when you’re tired, you’re tired and don’t nobody want to be tired all the time.”
The now 37-year-old songstress dated Future between 2012 and 2014, and is now married to American football star Russell Wilson, with whom she shares daughter Sienna, seven, and son Win, three. In August, the couple announced that they’re expecting their third child together.
