Following years of negotiating and a bitter court fight. Dr. Dre has finally agreed to pay $100,000,000.00 to settle his divorce from Nicole Young.
According to the deal terms the rap legend will pay $50 million immediately and an additional $50 million in a years time.
Born Andre Young, the music icon will keep seven of the properties he and his wife own, including his $100 million Brentwood estate, two homes in Calabasas, a Malibu property and four other homes in the Los Angeles area. He will also retain the rights to his master recordings, trademarks, and interests in financial partnerships and trusts. and will keep all of their stocks in Apple, which include the proceeds from the sale of his Beats by Dre audio equipment firm to the tech giant.
The former couple will divide their 10 vehicles, with Dre getting six and Nicole four automobiles and she will keep all of the jewelry, cash, and the bank accounts she used during their marriage.
Much to her dismay, the former Mrs Young must pay her own legal fees, believed to have run into millions of dollars and the agreement also forecloses her ability to obtain spousal support.
Citing irreconcilable differences, Nicole filed for divorce in June 2020 and in November, filed additional legal claims that her husband engaged in verbal violence and infidelity during their marriage. Their divorce battle reached new heights of bitterness when Dre was reportedly served divorce paperwork while attending his grandmother’s funeral in October.
Andre and Nicole married in 1996 and have two adult children.
