Sabrina Carpenter Granted Restraining Order

Against a man she claims repeatedly attempted to enter her home, Sabrina Carpenter has now been granted a restraining order.

Among several restrictions, 31-year-old William Applegate has been ordered to remain at least 100 yards from the superstar singer, her sister, and her sister’s partner, both of whom live with her, and the half-decade order also bans him from attempting to communicate with Carpenter, and possessing firearms.

While attending court without legal representation, Applegate said that he and Carpenter needed to “be together as soon as possible” because they’re part of a classified military program watching out for “national and global security”, the outlet reported.

On more than a dozen occasions, Applegate allegedly attempted to enter Carpenter’s Los Angeles home. In May, the trespasser was arrested after striking a security guard and reaching the musician’s front door, and returned days later. On May 29, a judge granted a temporary restraining order.

According to the Associated Press, Applegate admitted to being at Carpenter’s residence, insisting that the musician wanted him there, and accusing her team and the authorities of working against him.

Per the restraining order, the defendant said he was “more than willing” to steer clear of the Grammy winner if she told him to, and reportedly wrote in a counter-petition that Carpenter had attempted to communicate with him by looking directly at him as she sang during her Coachella set in April.

A criminal investigation is underway.
