Taking to her Instagram account, Mel B (real name Melanie Janine Brown) dropped a massive hint about the Spice Girls moving forward with their U.S. plans for a comeback.
Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the legendary girl groups debut single “Wannabe” Mel pka Scary Spice wrote “We WILL be back and that’s my ‘scary’ promise!” And to mark the anniversary new streaming numbers confirmed that the UK acts first release was their most listen to with over 600,000,000 plays worldwide.
Alongside a picture of a Spice Girls poster, promoted by Spotify in Times Square, the 46-year-old former America’s Got Talent judge added to the rumors by writing “NY we are coming for ya” and “The power of 5” as a subtle teaser towards the potential re-involvement of currently departed fifth member, Victoria Beckham, who chose not to be part of the girl group’s Spice World U.K. and Ireland tour dates in the summer of 2019, opting to focus on her family and fashion label.
The latest info has left American fans hungry for more news and just last month, Mel C told Good Morning Britain that she was “pushing” for another Spice Girls tour, noting: “The last shows went so well, it was mind blowing.” Sporty Spice (real name Melanie Jayne Chisholm) added that the pandemic had derailed their reunion plans, but claimed: “We would be fools to not want to do it again and play the UK and overseas.”
