Actor and musician Idris Elba has taken time during the last year of isolation to work on new music, including an upcoming collaborative track with Megan Thee Stallion.
Appearing on CapitalFM’s The All-New Capital Weekender, the Cats star who spins as DJ Big Driis said he’s been trying to keep his skills sharp during a time when he can’t be in clubs working the decks. “I’m trying to stay with it when we’re not gigging now,” he noted. “So I’ve got some really cool music coming, been working with Franky Wah on a tune I’m looking forward to dropping.” He then let it slip that he’s been talking with the “WAP” collaborator. The 48-year-old, who released the freestyle song “Gospel 21” in January, also told the Weekender‘s host that he would love to collaborate with his old pal Taylor Swift if she’d work with him. “I’ve known Taylor a few years. People see the album sales, the awards. What they don’t see is the hard work,” he said. “She is an incredibly hard-working person, she isn’t resting on her achievements. To perform live with her would be fun and hopefully we can make that happen.”
