Harry Styles’ Berlin Marathon Run

While running his second 26.2 mile race in a year, Harry Styles topped his personal best during the Berlin Marathon.

In order to keep a low profile, the superstar singer/songwriter participated in the Sunday (9.21) race under the Sted Sarandos alias. FInishing the race under three hours, the former One Direction competed with 55,000 runners who started the gruelling race.

Running at an average pace of 6 minutes 50 seconds per mile, according to the BMW Berlin Marathon app (where users can search for participants’ race times by bib number,) Styles crossed the finish line at the 2:59:13 mark.

With temperatures climbing to 75.2 degrees Fahrenheit, the event was held on an unseasonably warm spring day in the German capital,

The race winner, Kenyan long-distance runner Sabastian Sawe, won with a world-leading time of 2:02:16. Sawe’s compatriot Rosemary Wanjiru won the women’s race in 2:21:05.

Making a strong improvement on his time of 3:24:07 (7 minutes 47 seconds per mile) from the March Tokyo Marathon, the multi-Grammy-Award winner blended in with the Berlin crown, wearing black shorts, red trainers, sunglasses and a headband.
