Dionne Warwick Unable To Walk

Originally scheduled to perform at New York’s Carnegie Hall on Sunday (10.11), as part of the Deborah Silver & Fabulous Friends: Voices for ALS charity benefit, Dionne Warwick has since confirmed her inability to stand or walk.

Forced to make the difficult decision to cancel the appearance due to health issues, the now 85-year-old music icon took to social media with:

“I’m sorry to have had to cancel the chance to see you all at Carnegie.” “My leg and foot would not allow me to stand nor walk at the moment.”

Further addressing her condition and admitting she was experiencing a great deal of pain, the legendary songstress promised to take time out from work to focus on her recovery, adding:

“Due to the pain, I just couldn’t do anything other than cancel my appearance this time, as I focus on rest and recovering from it.”

Realizing the cancellation would have upset her loyal fans, the Grammy Award-winner asked supporters to show her grace and understanding, concluding “Only the pain and inability to stand or walk is the reason for my absence.”
