Taking home the trophy for Best Artist for the third time, Taylor Swift won big at the MTV Europe Awards (EMAs,) hosted by Rita Ora at Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena.
Leading this year’s European nominations, with nods in seven categories, the superstar singer/songwriter won four awards, including Best Artist and Best Video for Fortnight, her duet with Post Malone.
Swift, whose Eras tour was the biggest money maker in music history, beat out her fellow music competitors including Charli XCX and Billie Eilish.
Previously held in Glasgow, Liverpool, Belfast and Edinburgh, as well as London three timers, this year was the first time the EMAs were held in Manchester, England with featured performances by Shawn Mendes, Raye and Tyla,
During the Sunday (11.10) show, Ora gave an emotional tribute to the One Direction singer Liam Payne, saying: “Liam Payne was one of the kindest people that I knew. He had the biggest heart and was always the first person to offer help in any way that he could. He brought so much joy to every room he walked into and he left such a mark on the world.”
