Morrissey Curtails Concert After Fans Rush The Stage

On Saturday night (11.02,) after a mob rushed the stage, Morrissey abruptly ended his Texas concert.

While performing his song ‘First of the Gang to Die’ as his encore at Fair Park Music Hall in Dallas, the former The Smiths frontman was initially interrupted by a man and a woman who slowly approached him on the stage despite security intervention. The woman managed to hug the singer while the man shook his hand and after they were escorted off the stage, additional fans followed quickly when the guards unable to stop all the people who rushed the musician. 

The show quickly became chaotic with Morrissey surrounded by three stage invaders grabbing at his clothes, while crew members tried to pull them away.

The security team immediately decided to move the musician to safety with one guard injured during the incident when he jumped off the stage, unable to put weight on one of his feet. 

Signaling the end of the show, audience members booed as Morrissey’s band members stopped playing and walked off-stage and the house lights came up, with one attendee taking to X with “Was a great show but about 2/3 of the way in, a crowd of #idiots rushed the stage to hug him. A bodyguard was injured and the show instantly ended. Jeez what is wrong with people!?!?”
