As the lead single to his next album, Thomas Rhett has just released the project’s title track, “Country Again.”
The new single finds the 31-year-old country-music legend struggling with his work/home balance, as he sings “I traded sunsets with my wife / For hours on my phone / And even when I was right beside her / I still wasn’t really home / But last night we built a fire / I watched the moonlight kiss her skin / I thought man it feels good to be country again.”
In a statement about the new single, Rhett said “I think this song really is about my life. Just slowing down and really trying to look at the priorities in my life and what they mean to me. And realizing that it’s okay just to stop for a second. It’s okay to just to live simple and to really put your priorities at the top of your list – the ones that are most important to you. For me, that’s becoming a better dad, a better husband, a better friend, a better son, a better brother, and really getting back to my roots a little bit and what all that entails.”
In preparation for the April 30th release of the new Thomas Rhett LP, here is “Country Again.”
