The Beatles Break-Up Contract Up For Auction

The auction house known for its cutting edge, unexpected rock and roll memorabilia, Gotta Have Rock and Roll presents the signed document releasing each of The Beatles band member from their individual obligations to record as a group.

Now up for auction, The Apple Corps. Limited Dissolution of Contract Signed by All Four Beatles – a.k.a “The Beatles Break-Up Contract” – allowed each band member the independence to pursue individual careers.

Dated 29 December 1974, the item is a two-paged typed document signed by “Paul McCartney” and “R. Starkey”, twice signed by “George Harrison” and “John Lennon”. The estimated value of $500,000, makes this contract one of the most significant pieces in both Beatles and music history.
