Following an explosive years’ long battle between the superstar singer and her former record label when they acquired the rights to her first six studio LPs in 2019, Taylor Swift has regained the repertoire from Scooter Braun.
Allowing her to continue to profit from the music prior to her recent purchase, the multi-Grammy award winner set about re-recording the albums to release ‘Taylor’s Version’ records.
On Friday (5.30,) Swift took to her official website confirming her ability to regain control of her music, writing:
“I’m trying to gather my thoughts into something coherent, but right now my mind is just a slideshow.” “A flashback sequence of all the times I daydreamed about, wished for, and pined away for a chance to get to tell you this news. All the times I was thiiiiiiiiiiiiis close , reaching out for it, only for it to fall through.” “I almost stopped thinking it could ever happen, after 20 years of having the carrot dangled then yanked away. But that’s all in the past now.”
Bursting into tears as the news sank in, the now 32-year old songstress concluded “I really get to say these words: All of the music I’ve ever made… now belongs… to me.”
Taking to her Instagram account, Taylor shared a photograph of herself posing with vinyl versions of her albums, writing, “You belong with me.”
Having won back her original masters, the American musician stated that she will still release Reputation (Taylor’s Version) and Taylor Swift (Taylor’s Version) in the near future.
The latest announcement comes days after rumors swirled that Taylor Swift was set to pay $1,000,000,000.00 in order to re-own her original music, yet payment details of the acquisition have yet to be disclosed.
