Causing a major disruption in the city and prompted a full evacuation of the six-story venue, Nashville, Tennessee authorities have arrested a man after he allegedly threatened to bomb Morgan Wallen‘s downtown bar.
After the suspect, Reginald Smith, walked into the building and claimed he was carrying a bomb in his backpack, officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department attended This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen earlier this week
As authorities cornered off the area and the department’s bomb squad was dispatched to investigate the threat, the venue’s guests and staff were quickly ushered out of the building.
Though no explosives were found, Smith was taken into custody without incident and charged with making a false report and inducing panic. While authorities have yet to release a possible motive, the suspect has remained in custody while police continue their investigation.
Having become a high-profile addition to Nashville’s downtown entertainment district, the threat hit close to home for many fans of country music and Wallen. Opened for business in 2024, This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen stretches six stories and features multiple bars, rooftop views, regular live music and a menu inspired by “Southern comfort food”.
Memorabilia from Morgan Wallen’s career is featured throughout the space.
