At the 2026 American Music Awards (AMAs,) Billy Idol will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award on May 25 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
On Thursday (5.14,) producers from CBS and Dick Clark Productions (DCP) announced that the iconic rocker will receive the prestigious prize during the annual ceremony, stating:
“Billy Idol is being recognized for his incomparable career and body of work, unparalleled contributions to music, and continued influence on generations of artists and fans.” “For almost 50 years, Idol has been one of the defining faces and voices of rock ‘n’ roll.”
Marking his first time on the AMAs stage since presenting in 2004, and his first-ever AMAs performance, the 70-years old, the British musician will deliver a medley of his biggest hits.
Previous recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Award include Diana Ross and Rod Stewart.
Hosted by Queen Latifah, this year’s broadcast will also feature performances from International Artist Award of Excellence recipient Karol G, Hootie & the Blowfish, KATSEYE, Keith Urban, Maluma, Riley Green, SOMBR, Teddy Swims, Teyana Taylor, and Twenty One Pilots.
With eight nominations to her credit, Taylor Swift is set to dominate the AMAs, followed closely by Morgan Wallen, Olivia Dean, Sabrina Carpenter, and SOMBR, each of whom’ve garnered seven nods each.
