Some three decades since their last full length, the fourth Sublime studio LP will be released in June.
It was a year ago this month that, Jakob Nowell – the son of the band’s late frontman Bradley Nowell who died of a heroin overdose at the age of 28 in 1996 – confirmed that he was working with original members Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh, as well as Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, on brand new music.
Having not dropped any new material since their self-titled record in July 1996, on Wednesday (3.25,) Jakob shared that the ska punk group’s fourth full length Until the Sun Explodes will be available on 6.12.26 adding:
“The last Sublime record that will ever be made is Self-Titled. There’s no replacing history, period. Until The Sun Explodes, the album, is an epilogue, and Until The Sun Explodes, the single, is the epilogue to the epilogue.”. “It is a tribute to the expansive works of Sublime, it is an acknowledgement for all that my father has done for me my entire life, and most importantly it is a thank you. I love you dad, and I owe you my life.”
Along with its music video, the album’s title track is now available to stream.
“This song is the title track of our new album and it expresses the gratitude we all feel as well as our intent for the future of our band and the music we love!” “Until the Sun Explodes is our reality. Thank you for enjoying life with us!,” added drummer Gaugh.
Sublime is next set to perform in Melbourne, Australia on April 1.
