Due to ill health, Sting has cancelled several of his upcoming shows as part of his STING 3.0 tour.
On the advice of his doctor, the now 73-year old superstar singer/songwriter confirmed the postponement of several previously scheduled shows for this week.
Slated to perform on Thursday (1.23) at the Bass Magazine Awards in California where he was also set to receive a lifetime achievement award, the UK musician (born Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner) has also postponed shows in Phoenix, Arizona and Wheatland, California, as well as the Cherrytree Music Company’s 20th anniversary concert.
On Tuesday (1.21) a formal statement posted on the singer’s Instagram page read:
“On advisement from his doctor, due to illness, it is with sincere regret that Sting must cancel his appearance at the Bass Magazine Awards this Thursday and postpone his STING 3.0 concerts.” “Sting sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience and extends his gratitude to the fans for their understanding.”
Sting’s Phoenix show, originally scheduled for January 24 has been rescheduled for June 1, and his Wheatland gig has been moved from January 26 to May 28. The anniversary concert, which will also feature performances by Shaggy, Incubus, Sophie Grey and others, has been moved from 25 January to 29 May.
