Snoop Dogg and his daughter Cori Broadus have opened up about her severe stroke experience.
The Drop It Like It’s Hot rapper admitted he struggles with the memories of his daughter Cori Broadus’ health crisis, which unfolded in January.
“It’s hard for me to revisit that day,” Snoop, 53, told Us Weekly in a joint interview with Cori. “Anyone who knows me knows my daughter is my kryptonite.”
The severe stroke came completely out of the blue, Cori, 25, added.
“I was celebrating at a party, and then the next day, I’m in the hospital,” she told the magazine.
“I think it really scared everyone… You know, a stroke is no joke. It brought me and my family closer, (realising) that anything can happen in a snap of a finger.”
The stroke was not Cori’s first health scare. Aged 6, the pop singer and founder of Choc Factory cosmetics was diagnosed with the autoimmune disease lupus. Then, in 2021, she attempted suicide after struggling with her mental health.
“Cori is very open in showing her truth, whether it’s talking about her struggles with mental health or her stroke,” Snoop explained.
“Most people wouldn’t feel comfortable sharing their experiences, but she wants to help people by showing that they are not alone.”
