Months after being hospitalized in April, Jamie Foxx broke the silence for the first time about his health scare and current condition.
While the media have reported on updates from Foxx’s daughter, friends, and colleagues, the superstar actor/singer himself has remained elusive, notwithstanding several vague social media posts.
Taking to his Instagram account with a recorded video, the Academy Award winning thespian shared the details of his condition and his recovery and began by thanking everybody who’s been praying for him, with an explanation as to why he’s stayed out of the public eye for so long.
“I know a lot of people were waiting or wanting to hear updates but to be honest with you, I just didn’t want you to see me like that, man.” “I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, television show. I didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was gonna make it through.” “I cannot tell you how great it feels to have your family kick in in such a way, and y’all know they kept it airtight, they didn’t let nothing out, they protected me, and that’s what I hope that everyone could have in moments like these.”
Foxx went on to contradict rumors that his illness has left him blind and paralyzed, adding “I went to hell and back,” he said, “and my road to recovery had some potholes as well.”
