In the music video for his song, “Bud (Mowing Down Vamps,)” JAMIE FOXX gets into the vampire-slaying mood with the help of Dave Franco.
Tied to Foxx’s new Netflix movie Day Shift, in which the actor plays a seemingly mild-mannered pool cleaner named Bud Jablonski, whose actual job is hunting vampires, “Bud” is an EDM-influenced rap that finds the superstar actor/singer trading verses with up-and-comers J Young MDK and Sam Pounds. Franco plays a goofy rep for the vampire hunters union and also appears on the track, reciting the song’s hook, “Mowin’ down vamps with my best friend, Bud.”
The music video for “Bud” is directed by Taylor Chien, and features wild jeep rides, Dave Franco dance moves, and footage of vampire slaying action from Day Shift.
The film arrived on Netflix earlier this month and “Bud,” which was released alongside Day Shift on August 12, is Foxx’s first new music in seven years following his Hollywood: A Story of a Dozen Roses, LP in May 2015.
