Seven years since her last release, Robyn is preparing the release of her new single and album.
According to a reliable source, the now 46-year-old Swedish singer’s new single will drop in the coming weeks followed by Sexistential, her ninth full length in 2026.
In an interview with The Sun, an insider said “Robyn has spent years working on this music and has been really inspired by loads of up-and-coming artists. She has worked with some very cool people and all the stops are being pulled out for this to be her biggest record in decades.”
Sexistential, is touted to be a combination of the singer’s signature emotive synth-pop style with a renewed creative energy influenced by her collaborations and live performances over the past year. Born Robin Miriam Carlsson, the musician has made several surprise appearances recently with Charli XCX and Gracie Abrams on stage at separate shows.
Having earned a reputation as one of pop’s most innovative and enduring artists, Robyn emerged as a teenager in the 1990s, and has since developed a devoted international fanbase through her blend of electronic music, dance rhythms and raw emotion.
At the age of 16, the now superstar singer/songwriter’s debut LP Robyn Is Here (1995) recognized early success with singles ‘Do You Know (What It Takes)’ and ‘Show Me Love.’
In order to to gain creative control, Robyn left her original record label in the early 2000s to launch her own imprint, Konichiwa Records, where she released the self-titled Robyn in 2005 – a full length that redefined her career thanks to the success of ‘With Every Heartbeat’ and ‘Be Mine!’ singles. And her subsequent albums – including Body Talk (2010) and Honey (2018) – solidified her as a pioneering voice in modern pop, balancing vulnerability with dance-floor energy.
Famous for her cathartic live shows and deeply personal songwriting, Robyn has influenced a generation of artists including Lorde, Carly Rae Jepsen and Charli XCX, many of whom cite her as an inspiration.
