In the Best Original Song category, Charli XCX has been nominated at the 2026 World Soundtrack Awards for her work on ‘House’ from Emerald Fennell’s film Wuthering Heights.
Creating an entire Wuthering Heights soundtrack album, the superstar singer/songwriter co-wrote ‘House’ with John Cale, Nathan Klein and Finn Keane, and sang on the track with the Velvet Underground musician.
In February, the British singer dropped the soundtrack LP and followed with her latest album, Music, Fashion, Film, on Friday.
‘House’ will compete against four songs from 2025 films, including ‘Golden’ from KPop Demon Hunters, ‘No Place Like Home’ from Wicked: For Good, ‘Stolen Tale’ from Hedda and ‘Train Dreams’ from the film of the same name. At this years Oscars, ‘Golden’ and ‘Train Dreams’ were nominated for the Best Original Song Oscar with the former winning the award.
Elsewhere in the nominations, Hildur Guðnadóttir was shortlisted for Film Composer of the Year for her work on The Bride!, Hedda and 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple alongside Hamnet’s Max Richter, One Battle After Another’s Jonny Greenwood, Daniel Pemberton for Project Hail Mary, Masters of the Universe and The Drama, and Alexandre Desplat for Frankenstein and Jurassic World Rebirth.
Another notable nominee was Billie Eilish’s brother, Finneas O’Connell in the Television Composer of the Year category for his work on season two of Beef.
On Wednesday (8.05,) the initial wave of nominations were unveiled with the and the second round to be announced on September 3.
The World Soundtrack Awards Ceremony & Concert will take place in Ghent, Belgium on October 10.
