After security guard Jim Leobardo Sanchez filed a civil lawsuit against the former Migos rapper in November 2025, accusing him of assault, battery, and the intentional infliction of emotional distress., Offset has been ordered to complete 50 hours of community service.
According to the plaintiff’s attorney, the musician (born Kiari Cephus) allegedly pushed Sanchez on “his vest and then punched him with his right fist once to his left cheek” when he declined to provide I.D. during a visit to the MedMen cannabis dispensary in Los Angeles in March of last year.
In April of 2025, prosecutors at the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office also filed a misdemeanor assault charge against the superstar rapper to which he pleaded not guilty.
According to legal documents obtained by Rolling Stone on Monday (7.13,) a judge agreed to dismiss a criminal charge in the case as part of a “diversion order” if the hip-hop star completes 50 hours of community service, attends an anger management program, and doesn’t commit any further “violations” over the next twelve months. However, should the the defendant defy any provisions, the judge has the right to reinstate the case.
Seeking a diversion order, Christy O’Connor, the 34-year-old’s attorney insisted her client had “kept his nose clean” in the time since the “embarrassing and regretful incident”.
Though the recording artist has denied all allegations against him, representatives for Offset and Sanchez have yet to comment on the decision.
At press time Sanchez’s civil claims remain pending, with a hearing scheduled for August 5.
