The very first release on his atypical new music label, always centered at night, veteran New York DJ Moby releases his Aynzli Jones-featured single “medusa.”
The first of four titles on the EP, the June 1 single comes complete with two supplemental mixes, and an a cappella version of the song.
About his new label, the musician (born Richard Melville Hall) stated: “The goal for always centered at night is to do something uncompromising, to make music that is emotional, atmospheric, and potentially beautiful,”
And as stated in the label’s biography “What we have to say to artists we work with is: ‘Look. We’re trying to make something unique, unconventional, and personal, and the music and lyrics don’t need to explain themselves. They can be obscure, they can be whatever you want them to be.’”
As the original version of “medusa” nears 250,000 Spotify streams, the label’s artist profile boasts north of 150,000 monthly listeners, listen to how “medusa” mirrors always centered at night’s core mission statement by streaming the new single—and its companion pieces.
