Addressing the haters who’ve “attacked” her new appearance following her weight-loss journey, Meghan Trainor has spoken out about her breast augmentation surgery and the loss of 60 pounds by using the weight-loss drug Mounjaro.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the superstar singer/songwriter confirmed that the negative comments about her recent appearance are “getting louder”, but that she’s also “never felt better” addding “I’m literally for the first time ever, after having babies, taking care of my health to the highest level and I’ve never felt better and I look incredible. I feel great.” “And that’s when people attack me.”
The now 31-year-old, mother of two sons with actor husband Daryl Sabara, said she’s trying to block out the backlash as she prioritizes her health, stating “I’m taking care of myself.” “I have to find a way to not be affected by that.”
It was in March of this year that the songstress admitted to taking Type 2 diabetes medication Mounjaro as a weight loss drug, explaining that she started taking the injections, working with a dietician and trainer, after giving birth to her second child in July 2023.
Using public pushback as fuel for her songwriting, Trainor’s addressed her experience with body-shaming on her new single, ‘Still Don’t Care’ saying:
“People started commenting about my body, saying I’m too thin, and that they don’t recognise me anymore. And I was like, ‘Oh, I’ve just been focusing so hard on my health and my fitness that I’ve never felt better.’ So, I was confused and sad and was like, ‘Oh, it’s almost worse now.’ I don’t know what happened.” “I liked the idea of… ‘Let me think about it one more time. Nope, I still don’t care.’ And I know that when I start singing it, it’ll be my therapy, my exposure therapy.”
