Marilyn Manson Accuser Revives Sexual Assault Case

Ashley Walters, the former assistant to Marilyn Manson has re-instated her sexual assault lawsuit against the controversial rock star.

The plaintiff’s civil claims against the musician that were first initiated in 2021 were later dismissed, reignited on appeal, and then again dismissed as untimely in December of last year. The case was re-ignited on Monday (1.23), when Judge Steve Cochran reopened the case due to a new California law.

Assembly Bill 250, which came into effect on 1 January, provides a two-year window for alleged victims of sexual abuse to file otherwise time-barred lawsuits against their perpetrators. As a result, Judge Cochran ruled that this new window allows Walters to bypass the two-year statute of limitations for her claims, which allege Manson subjected her to “sexual exploitation, manipulation and psychological abuse” from 2010 to 2011.

“The motion for reconsideration filed by Ashley Walters on 7 January 2026, is granted.” “Statute revives the claim. The court orders the dismissal ordered on 16 December as to the entire action set aside and vacated,” read a brief court order.

On Monday (1.23,) Walters’ legal team said they were “thrilled” with the decision, adding “Mr Warner has tried time and again to avoid accountability for his abuse against Ms Walters.”  “We look forward to continuing to fiercely advocate for Ms Walters until Mr Warner finally answers for his abuse.”

Beginning with his former fiancée, Evan Rachel Wood, Walters is one of several women who have accused the embattled musician (born Hugh Warner) of sexual abuse in recent years. A follow-up court appearance is set for March.
