After the highly anticipated Friends : The Reunion aired on HBO Max, Mariah Carey paid respect to Jennifer Aniston‘s television character and her famous haircut.
Social media’s was a flutter after Carey posted a throwback pic to Instagram on Friday, showing off her attempt to recreate “The Rachel” a.k.a. Jennifer Aniston’s famed haircut from the Friends TV show. In the photo, Mariah, now 51, can be seen performing on stage with her wavy locks up in a half-ponytail. “#FBF A sad attempt at the Rachel hairdo,” the “We Belong Together” singer captioned the shot, adding the hashtag “#friends” to the text. However, in the comments portion of the picture, Aniston, 52, expressed her admiration for Carey’s haircut, writing, “LOVE IT 🔥,”
Hosted by James Corden, Friends: The Reunion, saw the show’s famous cast — as well as co-creators Marta Kauffman and David Crane and executive producer Kevin Bright — share a number of delightful behind-the-scenes tidbits from their time working on the NBC series, which aired for ten seasons from 1994 to 2004.
Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer, and Jennifer Aniston were taken aback by the sight of meticulously recreated sets they hadn’t visited in 17 years: Joey and Chandler’s bachelor pad, Monica and Rachel’s apartment, and even Central Perk, where the thrift-store-find orange couch was always reserved for them. “It’s funny, when we do get together, it’s like no time has gone,” Cox, now 56, said of the reunion to a magazine.
