Mariah Carey + Michael Jackson Collaboration

Calling it “one of his classics,” Mariah Carey is “upset” that her unreleased collaboration with Michael Jackson has yet to be released.

Having re-recorded The Jackson 5 hit “I’ll Be There” in 1992, it’s Carey’s hopes that, one day, her collaboration with the late King of Pop will be cleared by his estate.

Now 56-years old, the multi-Grammy award winning songstress wanted to put the song on Here For It All, her recently released full length, and she has urged fans to petition for the song to be released.

During her recent interview with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live this week, Mariah said: “They’re doing something really huge for him, Michael, and you know this is a song that would usurp the situation. I’m so upset that it’s not coming out on this album. Like, every time I would play it for somebody, they’d be like ‘Wow.’ It’s one of his classics. I sang along to it and did new background vocals…If someone just calls his management and tells them we want to hear this!”

Not the first time the two musicians shared vocals, it was in 2001 that they were featured together on Jackson’s 9/11 inspired charity single ‘What More Can I Give,’ along with Reba McEntire, Anastacia, Nick Carter, 3LW, Beyoncé, NSYNC, Celine Dion, Boyz II Men members Shawn Stockman and Michael McCary, Brian McKnight, Luther Vandross, and Usher.
