It’s official! Prosecutor’s In Fulton County, Georgia, have formally dropped multiple charges, including murder, against Lil Durk.
According Fox 5 in Atlanta, the musician (born Durk Derrick Banks) was facing several charges – including attempted murder, several counts of aggravated assault, participation in criminal street gang activity, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon – in connection to a 2019 shooting outside the famous Varsity restaurant in Atlanta.
Citing “prosecutorial discretion” each of the charges were dismissed in an official filing from the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office that read “The facts of this case have been reviewed, and although probable cause existed for the defendants arrest, the decision at this time is not to prosecute.”
Manny Arora, an attorney for Lil Durk, told Rolling Stone, “I am glad that the charges from three plus years ago have been dismissed. While it is unfortunate that it took so long to reach the conclusion that we had argued from day one, I’m glad that all involved can now move on.”
