Created with the help of those closest to her, Lana Del Rey has formally released her latest single.
Penned alongside her sister Chuck Grant, her brother-in-law Jason Pickens, and her husband Jeremy Dufrene, the 39-year-old singer/songwriter dropped ‘White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter,’ a sweeping new track courtesy of Polydor Records, co-producer Jack Antonoff.
True to tradition of hands-on visual storytelling, the deeply personal song comes complete with a Wednesday (2.18) music video premiere that’s been self-made by the musician and her team. Taking a pro-active role in shaping the aesthetic of her projects, and visuals are expected to reflect the intimate, family-driven spirit behind the song.
By including close family members in the songwriting process, the 40-year old artist offers fans a rare glimpse into her inner circle with ‘White Feather …’ highlighting a particularly personal chapter for the star, who’s increasingly woven her private life into her repertoire.
Though’s she’s yet to confirm the title or exact release date of her next LP, Lana posted on Instagram Stories that a new record is due in approximately three months. Addressing the country-inspired record, she teased that fans would find out more “soon,” adding “I know, you’re asking about the record. But honestly, soon. ‘Cause vinyl takes three months, so three months plus two weeks. It could be give or take a bit less than that.”
Lana had initially announced her 10th studio album for a May 2025 release, though the record was ultimately delayed to early 2026. The singer had also originally titled the album Lasso, before changing it to The Right Person Will Stay – though that name has seemingly been dropped too.
Previously explaining her decision to add six more songs to the collection, which led to the delay, the native New Yorker said:
“They were more autobiographical than I thought, and that took more time.” “The majority of the album will have a country flair. Eight years ago, when I was looking to make a country record, no one else was thinking about country.” “Now everyone is going country! I’ve asked myself, Should I retire all my snakeskin boots? Should I put my cowboy hats in storage?”
