A follow-up to their 2014 Cheek to Cheek album, Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett announced that they’ve been working on a new duet LP for two years.
While the new full length has yet to be released, the contemporary pop star and legendary crooner have confirmed a performance for MTV’s Unplugged on July 2 at 11 a.m. at an unknown NYC location. The show will be held in front of a full house, with face masks optional, but guests must provide evidence of vaccination and a negative COVID test result from the morning of the event.
Earlier this year Tony Bennett disclosed his Alzheimer’s diagnosis. Gaga has pushed back the release of her forthcoming 2022 stadium tour in favor of her 2020 album Chromatica and (she) recently published a tenth anniversary edition of her Born This Way which includes reimagined versions of six of the album’s songs by other artists.
