Kygo has added his house production skill set to ‘Say, Say, Say,’ the 1983 hit by Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson.
Marking the release of his forthcoming full length ‘Thrill of the Chase,’ the Norwegian deejay/producer (born Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll) talked about his latest remix stating:
“I’m absolutely honored to work on a song that was made by two of the greatest musical legends of all time.” “Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson have meant so much to me as an artist and I’ve been listening to their music since I was a kid.” “It’s been a dream of mine to collaborate alongside these iconic artists, and hope everyone enjoys the song as much as I do.”
Originally produced by George Martin, ‘Say Say Say’ was the lead single to McCartney’s 1983 album ‘Pipes of Peace’ and was recorded during the production of the now 80-year-old music legend’s 1982 LP ‘Tug of War’.
The year prior, McCartney hitmaker and Jackson – who passed away in 2009 at 50 from acute propofol intoxication – collaborated on ‘The Girl Is Mine’ from Michaels’ legendary 1982 LP ‘Thriller’.
No stranger to classic remixes Kygo, now 31, remade Tina Turner’s classic ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It?,’ Donna Summers’ ‘Hot Stuff,’ and Whitney Houston’s ‘Higher Love’
