Confirming that he and Paul Stanley have already recorded a brand-new track, Gene Simmons has confirmed that KISS has returned to the studio.
During an episode of Kiss By Sienna by Sienna Hernandez, who acted as executive producer on 2017’s Gene Simmons Vault box set, Simmons said “Kiss is in the studio now. So we just recorded a new song that Paul wrote. I cannot tell you more about it. And that will be coming out at some point.”
In a recent Pollstar interview, the iconic bass player revealed their eagerly-awaited avatar show will feature new material alongside such classics as ‘Love Gun’ and ‘Deuce,’ adding “You are going to get all that stuff and also new songs written by us. We have songs done.”
Slated to launch in 2028, the AI generated show will mark the next chapter in the legendary pop/rock band’s post-tour future as they continue to expand the KISS universe beyond the physical stage.
After their December 2, 2023 at New York;s Madison Square Garden, the veteran rockers quit live touring after their End Of The Road concert, but surprised fans by debuting digital versions of themselves created by the teams behind the technologically ground-breaking ABBA Voyage show.
Now 74-years old, co-lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Stanley recently teased that the KISS avatars are astounding and will keep the legacy of the rock band alive, telling Rock Of Nations With Dave Kinchen And Shane McEachern:
“Well, the band continues. Without touring, there’s so much in the pipeline. This avatar show that’s going to be in Vegas is gonna blow everybody’s minds. It’s not like what some people have called holograms and all this kind of experimental and kitschy stuff. This is seeing us. This is as real as I am, and I think it’s gonna just blow people away. And it extends the band that much further.” “There’s no reason for us to live within the boundaries of other rock bands.” “They live within those boundaries because that’s all they can be. And it’s great, but we are not that – we’re KISS.”
During his Ultimate Classic Rock interview, the 76-year Simmons talked about the avatar show and having the band on-stage in their famous face paint, will also include other technological marvels to experience.
“We’re gonna blow your socks off in a way multiple times more exciting than the Sphere. People who go to Vegas to see a show in the Sphere are awed by the massive scale of everything. There’s nothing wrong with the Sphere, [but] I’ll go out on a limb and make sure people understand this [the KISS avatars] is gonna make that seem like popcorn fart. It’ll be mind-blowing,” concluded Gene.
