Some two decades since this last collection, Peter Criss, the original KISS drummer has announced his latest solo full length.
Now 79-years-old, the iconic stickman who’s released prior jazz and pop records has a “hard rock, kick-ass album” ready to go, according to KISS historian Julian Gill.
Featuring several fellow legendary musicians, Criss confirmed that the LP will include collaborations with Mötley Crüe guitarist John 5, virtuoso electric bassist Billy Sheehan as well as as David Letterman’s former musical director, Paul Shaffer.
In a recent ‘KissFAQ’ fan podcast, Chris said “I have an announcement.” “I have my new rock and roll album to [share with] you KISS Army guys coming out in the fall, and I really hope you like it, man. And I wanna say God bless to each and every one of you,” to be released between September and November.
Produced by Mötley Crüe-producer Barry Pointer, about the follow-up to his 2007 One For All, the podcast’s host ,Gill said “I’m so excited for it to be released, and I think KISS fans are gonna love this album. Peter’s drum sound is absolutely massive and his vocals are powerful. Barry Pointer’s production is stunning, and Peter’s got an incredible group of musicians and background vocalists behind him.”
It was in 1973 that Criss founded KISS that was later joined by Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons after they answered his advert, with Ace Frehley joining at a later date. And while he initially quit the band in 1980, he reunited with the original lineup in 1996. However, he left for good in 2004.
Though the iconic rockers played their final concert at New York’s Madison Square Garden in 2023, KISS are playing an “unmasked” show in Las Vegas on November 16 at the Kiss Army Storms Vegas convention from November 14 thru November 16.
At the time the then 75-year-old drummer stated that the Madison Square Garden concert would be the “final Kiss-in-makeup appearance” the line-up for which featured Simmons, Stanley, Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer.
