Kendrick + SZA Sizzle At Super Bowl Halftime Show

Superstar rapper/writer Kendrick Lamar stunned the crowd when he headlined the Super Bowl LIX halftime show on Sunday (2.09.)

A 17-time Grammy award winner, Lamar was joined on stage by fellow Grammy-winner SZA.

After the Philadelphia Eagles ended the first half with a 24-0 lead over the Kansas City Chiefs, Lamar took to the stage with a team of red, white and blue backing dancers who walked out of a black Grand National car.

The halftime show was kicked off with by an introduction from superstar actor Samuel L Jackson, followed by Lamar who dove straight into a string of hits, including ‘GNX,’ ‘Squabble Up’ and ‘Humble.’

Donning head-to-toe red outfit, SZA joined Kendrick on stage for her collaborative song ‘Luther.’

The Super Bowl pre-game show featured Grammy-award winning singer/songwriter Jon Batiste who put a modern twist on the national anthem, followed by Trombone Shorty and Lauren Daigle who performed ‘America the Beautiful.’

Oft times called the Black national anthem, Ledisi performed a stirring rendition of ‘Lift Every Voice and Sing,’ a song that’s been a Super Bowl staple for the past five years. 

In honor of the victims of the New Orleans New Year’s terror attack, Lady Gaga performed ‘Hold My Hand’ on Bourbon Street ahead of the game..
