Kanye West has been suspended from Instagram for 24 hours after violating the social media giant’s harassment and bullying policy.
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday (3.16) with scathing attacks at comedian/actor Peter Davidson, his ex-wife Kim Kardashian‘s new boyfriend, the superstar rapper also took aim at actor D.L. Hughley and The Daily Show’s Trevor Noah, both of whom have publicly discussed Kanye’s Instagram posts.
A spokesperson for Meta (formerly Facebook), which owns Instagram, confirmed Kanye’s 24-hour suspension from posting, commenting or sending direct messages and the platform has also deleted content that violates their policies on hate speech, bullying, and harassment.
West took aim at Noah by sharing a screen-grab of the South African comedian appearing in Google search results and re-writing the lyrics to Kumbaya, My Lord in the caption, changing the words to a racially charged slur.
West took aim at The Daily Show host after he discussed the rapper’s social media content stating that his posts and controversial songs and videos make people “uncomfortable”, and stating:
“With Kanye, we don’t know how to feel. We don’t know how to worry.” “What [Kim Kardashian] is going through is terrifying to watch and it shines a spotlight on what so many women have to go through to leave. What we’re seeing is one of THE most powerful – one of the richest – women in the world to get her ex to stop texting her, to stop chasing her, to stop harassing her.”
