Kanye West Banned From Australia

After inciting outrage with his song ‘Heil Hitler,’ Kanye West has been banned from entering Australia.

ONCE the embattled rapper dropped his highly controversial song in praise of Nazi leader Adolf Hitler following a string of antisemitic X posts in which he declared his love for the German authoritarian and called himself a Nazi, Australian authorities revoked West’s visa in May.

Barred from visiting the home country of his wife, Bianca Censori, Aussie Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke confirmed that officials re-visited the musician’s visa status following the release of the widely banned song.

“It was a lower level (visa) and the officials still looked at the law and said you’re going to have a song and promote that sort of Nazism, we don’t need that in Australia.” “We have enough problems in this country already without deliberately importing bigotry,” said Burke on Wednesday (7.02.)

Adding that Kanye had family in Australia and had been coming to the country “for a long time” prior to his visa cancellation, when asked if it was “sustainable” to maintain the ban due to West’s career, Burke replied:

“I think that what’s not sustainable is to import hatred” “Every visa application gets reassessed by my officials each time. I’m not taking away the way the act operates but even for the lowest level of visa, when my officials looked at it, they cancelled that following the announcement of that song.”

Censori reportedly left West earlier this year over his latest antisemitism controversy, however, they are believed to be back together.
