On Tuesday (9.06,) Janet Jackson hit the red carpet during Harlem’s Fashion Row 15th Anniversary Fashion Show and Style Awards in New York City where the 56-year-old superstar singer/songwriter was honored with the Icon of the Year award.
The theme for this year’s uptown Manhattan event was “Future’s Past”, that showcased fashion’s future fueled by the untold history of countless contributions, sacrifices, and innovations in fashion that inspire Harlem Fashion Row to explore groundbreaking collaborations and to elevate black-owned brands.
Founded in 2007 by Brandice Daniel, Harlem’s Fashion Row supports emerging talent and provides a platform for underrepresented African American and Latino designers.
