J Balvin + Ed Sheeran Release 2 Collaborations: Look + Listen

Seen by fans as an unlikely pairing with an even more unlikely origin story, sometime in 2021, J Balvin and Ed Sheeran were working out at a New York gym when they suddenly crossed paths.

According to a recent tweet by British superstar singer/songwriter “It was just me and him very early in the morning. I recognized his voice when he was on the phone so I just went up and said hi.” “We chatted so long we ended up having lunch and then afternoon tea. Then just went to being mates who chatted non stop.”

The chance meeting between and Anglo and Hispanic musicians turned into studio time, where the pop artists composed several songs, including “Forever My Love” and “Sigue,” each of which premiered today.

A much more upbeat track with a video that shows them partying in a mansion, ‘Sigue’ was put up on Balvin’s YouTube channel.

Meanwhile Sheeran posted a black-and-white video version for “Forever My Love” on his YouTube channel, filled with scenes of the two artists exchanging guitar riffs and talking over FaceTime.

Not new to teaming up with Latin pop stars, Sheeran’s worked with Camila Cabello twice, once on the recent “Bam Bam” and the Cardi B-assisted “South of the Border,” and his hit “Shape of You” got a Reggaeton remix by the legendary duo Zion Y Lennox. And, Balvin’s (2021) Jose LP came out last included features from English-speaking pop acts, such as Khalid, Skrillex, and Dua Lipa.
