Preempting next week’s release of Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson visited The Tonight Show on Friday (3.15,) alongside Ray Parker Jr. to perform the original film’s classic theme on classroom instruments.
Sitting next Jimmy Fallon, the show’s host and the Roots. Parker Jr. took the lead vocals and triangle as Murray played the kazoo until the entire group of musicians sang the infamous “Ghostbusters” lyric, “Bustin’ makes me feel good.”
Not the only surprise Murray for the Tonight Show, the iconic comedian/actor bum rushed Fallon’s opening monologue in order to shamelessly promote Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. After pulling Hudson from his dressing room, the two actors sat down on with Jimmy and went down memory lane, talking about the original 1984 film and filing the “Ghostbusters” music video in Times Square.
The sequel to 2021’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire arrives in theaters March 22. And in addition to The Tonight Show guests, the new sequel features the return of Dan Aykroyd’s Ray Stantz, Annie Potts’ Janine Melnitz, and Walter Peck’s villainous politician Walter Peck.
