After recovering from knee replacement surgery earlier this year, Elton John has been fighting off a severe eye infection that has left him with limited sight.
Taking to social media on Tuesday (9.03,) the superstar singer/songwriter stated on Instagram “Over the summer, I’ve been dealing with a severe eye infection that has unfortunately left me with only limited vision in one eye. I am healing, but it’s an extremely slow process and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye.” “I am so grateful for the excellent team of doctors and nurses and my family, who have taken such good care of me over the last several weeks.” “with love and gratitude.”
Regardless of his current medical situation, the now 77-year old iconic musician who retired from touring in 2023, will attend to his forthcoming work commitments.
According to Variety, on Friday (9.06,) Sir Elton plans to attend the premiere of his documentary, Elton John: Never Too Late, at the Toronto International Film Festival. Available on Disney+ in December, the forthcoming documentary provides an intimate look at John;s life and career, including his very last show at Dodger Stadium.
