Following protracted rumors that the rapper and the tennis ace were romantically involved, Drake recently admitted that in 2016 he wrote ‘Too Good’ about Serena Williams.
Born Aubrey Drake Graham, the superstar singer/songwriter took to social media with a video of himself explaining to his moms, Sandi Graham, some of his musical inspiration, and referring to the 2016 song, Drake said:
“I get heavy on a couple joints, but this is more about me and Serena.” “It’s funny because when I make songs about women, I also make songs for them. So, I know what kind of song to make.”
Explaining his penchant for writing positive songs for his love interests to enjoy, the Canadian-born artist added:
“If I’m gonna talk about them, I’ll at least do them the justice of making them a song that they like.” “So, I know Serena very well and I know that she’ll hear it loud and clear, but she’ll also not hate me for it because it’s lighthearted.”
A frequent court-side fixture at Serena’s 2011 tennis matches, the pair were seen kissing in 2015, not long before the now 42-year-old star athlete started dating her now-husband, Alexis Ohanian.
