It’s official. The first original Diana Ross song in 15 years will be released today!
Titled “Thank You”, the pop music diva and former Supremes front woman shared a short preview of the song via Twitter and Facebook stating: “My new single will be released on June 17.” “Thank You” is the title. “From Me, To You, For You.”
For some time now, the legendary Motown vocalist has been teasing new songs. “I miss performing soo much, I am glad I am recording new music and songs in my home studio, this makes me happy, coming soon!” she stated, along with a photo of herself on stage in March.
With the exception of the title track “I Love You (That’s All That Really Matters)”, I Love You was Ross’s last solo studio album of cover versions including such classics as Marvin Gaye’s “I Want You” and Queen’s “Crazy Little Thing Called Love”.
Ms. Ross just announced England’s ‘Thank You’ Tour 2022, which will conclude with two performances at London’s O2 Arena, tying up with the title of her new single. Dubbed “A Diamond Diana Music Celebration,” the concerts will take the place of her Top Of The World UK Tour, which had been scheduled for 2021 but was canceled. Tickets purchased for those performances will be valid for the equivalent concerts.
