It’s been nine years since deadmau5 and Wolfgang Gartner last collaborated, resulting in 2012’s “Channel 42,” that appeared on the former artist’s fifth studio album, > album title goes here <. And now, the duo have reconnected for the aptly-named “Channel 43.”
While both tracks have very similar names, they’re quite different as small blips and textured synths paired with a fun, bouncy rhythm permeate the entirety of the new collaboration. Though they are intricately produced, “Channel 43” is a pure and unadulterated portal back to an earlier time when both artists were releasing “simpler” music.
