Craig David + Daniel Bedingfield Join Forces

Along with fellow UK Garage icon Craig David, Daniel Bedingfield has been collaborating on new material.

During an interview with The Sun’s Biz column in the UK, the 46-year old addressed the current state of modern music and his desire to reconnect with sounds that genuinely move people, stating:

“I don’t think music moves many people these days. It’s really boring. At the moment, you have to befriend someone that is incredible at what you do. Whatever you’re good at, they have to be as good and that’s extremely hard to find.”

Though praising a handful of artists who’ve kept the garage sound alive, the New Zealand-born, UK-raised musician criticized much of what he’s recently heard adding “Most music I’ve heard this year is mush, but Oppidan, Flava D and DJ Zinc… they are making garage that sounds really fresh.”

Casually addressing his current work with one of the most influential figures in British dance music, Bedingfield teased “Craig David – we’re working on some stuff together at the moment.”

Now 44-years of age, Craig rose to fame some 25 years ago as a key architect of the UK garage explosion, scoring massive hits with the likes of ‘Fill Me In’ and ‘7 Days.’ And like Daniel, Craig became synonymous with a sound that dominated British charts and clubs in the early 2000s.
