Claimed that he recently witnessed an arrest by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in his native country of Puerto Rico, Bad Bunny has taken ICE to task.
On Tuesday (6.17,) the now 31-year old Hispanic superstar singer/songwriter took to his Instagram Stories with a clip that appears to show ICE agents detaining people in the street. Along with the captioned “ice,” in the video, the musician can be heard saying, “Look, those motherf**kers are in these cars, RAV-4s. They’re here in Pontezuela. Sons of b**ches, instead of leaving the people alone and working there.”
Born Benito Ocasio, the musician’s post came days after protests broke out in Los Angeles following raids by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents on several locations in the city to arrest individuals allegedly involved in illegal immigration.
A number of celebrities attended the protests, including the likes of fellow artist, Olivia Rodrigo, who also recently took to Instagram “deeply upset” about federal immigration raids in Los Angeles, writing:
“I’ve lived in LA my whole life and I’m deeply upset about these violent deportations of my neighbors under the current administration.” “LA simply wouldn’t exist without immigrants. Treating hardworking community members with such little respect, empathy, and due process is awful.”
Other famous faces to speak out in response to the recent ICE raids include Finneas, Kehlani, Renée Rap, Billie Joe Armstrong, and Tyler, The Creator.
